Astragalus Chai

For change of season strengthening!

Astragalus originates from China known as Huang qi and is considered by some to be a superior tonic than Ginseng.  Believed to energise the outside of the body and tonify the protective energy known as Wei Chi’i which flows just beneath the skin and protects the body from external ‘pathogenic factors’ such as cold, damp, wind and heat.

In Chinese Herbal Medicine its properties are considered sweet and slightly warm, helping to raise vitality, stop debilitating sweating, promote healing and tissue regeneration, as well as being helpful with organ prolapse.  In Western Herbal Medicine it is used in many chronic health conditions whether it be Bacterial, Viral in origin or Autoimmune.  So often used to help with Impaired Immunity, HIV/AID’s, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, Cancer, Chronic Infection, Hypertension, Congestive heart failure, Adrenal Fatigue, Poor appetite, Diarrhoea, Abnormal uterine bleeding, and all Viral & Bacterial infections.

This Chai I would recommend having over Wintertime especially a week before and after the change of season from Winter to Springtime…helping to protect you from any infections as well as bringing strength and energy to a body that has been hibernating over Winter, preparing you for the season ahead!
