Used as far back as the Han Dynasty (206 B.C. – 23 A.D.) Introduced to Europe in 1762 to Edinburgh, Scotland. Used in the digestive system to help with constipation, hemorrhoids, diarrhea, as a cleanser – helping with removal of accumulated toxins, relieving kidney pain, as well as treating for pinworms, threadworms and ringworm. Turkey rhubarb has antimicrobial, antibacterial, antibiotic and antiviral actions. It’s also possible that it can help with reducing LDL cholesterol, angina symptoms, as well as restoring the arterial lining and improving arterial circulation. Externally it’s been used for skin eruptions i.e. boils, carbuncles, and promote healing topically for cold sores, wounds and burns.physema, enuresis in children, enteritis, fungal infections, infected skin conditions, laryngitis, nervous coughs, pertussis, pleurisy, thrush (candida), tonsillitis & worms.
