Common names Featherfoil, Midsummer Daisy, Wild quinine, Mutterkrout. Contains Vitamins A, C, B3, Iron, Manganese, Phosophorus, Potassium, Selenum, Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc. Specific for migraines and prophylaxis (prevention) of migraines, but used for many health conditions i.e. indigestion, arthritis, allergies, psoriasis, eczema, hayfever, Reumatoid Arthritis, rhinitis, dermatitis, nerve pain, teething, depression, fevers, vertigo, constipation, bloating, flatulence, anorexia, kidney pain and parasites. Having anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, anthelmintic, emmenagogue, febrifuge actions. Historically used to expel afterbirth, bring on menstruation, lift the spirits, hysteria and nervousness, colic, cough, wheezing and difficulty breathing, relieve facial and ear pain in rheumatic disease. Externally to treat freckles, insect bites and as an insect repellent. In 1772 herbalist John Hill said “it would cure the worst headache”.
