Fenugreek – Organic

The seeds contain hormone precursors (diosgenin) that increase milk supply. Its use was associated with increases in milk production by as much as 900%. It has been shown to increase a nursing mother’s milk supply within 24 to 72 hours after first taking the herb.

Fenugreek has also been used to increase libido in men, increase erectile function and serve as an aphrodisiac. In Middle Eastern countries the seeds are used for weight gain in underweight individuals and to naturally augment bust size. Fenugreek also contains mucilaginous constituents that give the herb an internal demulcent property which leaves a soothing protective coating over the digestive tract, often used for gastric or duodenal ulcers, diverticulitis, dysentery, colitis, diarrhoea, irritable bowel and Crohn’s disease. It’s a nutrient rich herb with anti-inflammatory, hypoglycaemic (reduces blood sugar levels and reduces the absorption of sugar from the diet) properties. Used in treating wounds, arthritis and other inflammations, as well as coughs, bronchitis, reducing mucus production, help ease asthma, and sinus problems. Studies have shown that it reduces high cholesterol and that it has a hypoglycaemic effect on those with type 1 diabetes. It may also benefit those who are underweight or with poor appetite, weak digestion, poor appetite or general debility, reduction of fever and menstrual pains.
