In the Caribbean damiana leaves are used for headaches, and for young children found to help in the control of bedwetting.

Damianas main areas of use are with the nervous system and the reproductive system. Acting as a tonic, slightly euphoric in action, helping with depression, anxieties, nerve pain and exhaustion. As well as showing results with impotence, improving libido, low sexual interest, sexual inadequacies of emotional and/or psychological origin being British Herbal Pharmacopeia specific for anxiety neurosis with a predominant sexual factor.
