Essential oils have long been used to deter the unwanted attention of biting insects. We’ve chosen an effective blend of these oils in a base of Witch Hazel (bugs don’t like this either). Spray on exposed skin every 2-3 hours or after exposure to water.
Nutritionally, you can drink a tablespoon or two of organic apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and eat plenty of garlic. Vitamin B1 taken regularly is also supposed to help repel insects.
If you are bitten dab on some tea tree, peppermint or lavender essential oil, These increase circulation to the bite which dispels the toxins. Apple Cider Vinegar can also be applied for relief.
One of our customers bought our BNM to use on her trip with her two sons down the Mekong River in Vietnam.
They travelled for 2 weeks using our spray twice daily and had no bites in all that time. For their co-travellers (who used deet based products) the results, unfortunately for them, were not as positive. They were all plagued with mosquitoes and other insects -being bitten repeatedly.
I think this qualifies as a reasonably successful field test for our product. By the way there were still a couple of sprays left in the bottle at the end of the trip.
