Commonly known as Chilean clover, Buffalo grass, Purple medic, Lucerne and many more. commercially used for it’s high levels of chlorophyll, it’s highly alkaline nature makes it useful for treatment of acidic conditions i.e. gout, and arthritis. Known to contain vitamins A, B Complex, C, E, K, Biotin, INositol, Silica, Calcium, Potassium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Sodium, Choline and more. Shown to help with fevers, fluid retention, malnutrition, skin disorders, high cholesterol, ulcers, constipation, haemorrhoids, gastritis, asthma, anemia, as well as cancer.

Believed to have originated in Northern Africa. Remains of alfalfa leaf were found in Persian ruins dating back 6000 years and early writings from Turkey found to have originated around 1300B.C. Eventually spreading to the Mediterranean and most of Europe. Alfalfa reached England in the 16th century as a food for strength and digestive problems. Brought to America in 1736 where it was used for many things including upset stomach, indigestion, iron loss, poor appetite, insect bites, boils, breast milk production, urinary tract infection, bad breath, migraines, blood cleanser, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and more.
